The full meaning of OTC in this context is Over the Counter Card, and here’s exactly what it looks like.
The OTC network is basically for tracking, managing, and maximizing your health plan benefits. Upon successful logging into the app, you will be able to view in detail all your health benefits plans, available balances, and places to spend your balance.
You can use this card for various activities, including shopping for different items. This option is made available on the app by following the below procedures.
What can you buy with an OTC card?
NOTE: You can use this card to purchase related items from participating pharmacists, Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.
There are so many products you can buy with your OTC card.
Though the products approved for purchase aren’t limited to your gender or age, there are products you won’t gain access to unless they are needed. (It depends on which program you’re operating from.)
For instance, if you’re older, you can access medicated glasses and other related products. Pregnant women can also shop for pregnancy related products, same applies to adults and children.
To find out which items you can buy using the OTC network,
Login to your app, and you will land on the dashboard that shows all your benefits and available balances.
To scan products at the store, tap on the scan products button at the bottom of your screen. Select products from the list.
You can also select location from the navigation to search for eligible retailers in your area.
Alternatively, you can find legible products on the website mybenefitscenter.com.
Once you have access to your dashboard, select products from the top menu.
From the Products page, select your desired benefit, category, and subcategories you would like to search, and you will be navigated to your results page.
Can I buy toilet paper with my OTC card?
These cards are designed mainly for purchasing health and wellness products in the United States. That means you can easily shop for personal care items and other related products, like first aid and even medications.
Unfortunately, toilet paper, being a household essential, doesn’t fall into any of these categories. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s impossible to buy toilet paper with an OTC card. However, you may need to inquire from your OTC network program or contact the card issuer for more clarification on this.
